COATING

Use Instruction

Substrate Preparation

The substrate where VOTOMASSA INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COATING will be applied must be flat, clean, dry, free from dust, oily substances, paint, mortar remains or other conditions that can restrict bonding.

Mortar Preparation

In a clean recipient, place 7.3 to 7.7 liters of water and a bag of VOTOMASSA INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COATING. Mix until a homogeneous mortar, without air pockets, is formed. The VOTOMASSA INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COATING may be prepared using a mechanical mixer (continuous mixer or by batch).

Mortar Working Time

The maximum working time of VOTOMASSA INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COATING is of 2 hours from the beginning of the mixture. During this period it is not recommended to add water or any other product. Remix before applying.

Mortar Application

The coating of walls must be made in only one coat with a maximum thickness of 3.0 cm. For greater thickness, after applying the first coat, wait for the mortar setting and then apply a second coat. For thickness greater than 6.0 cm, place galvanized canvas between the coats. It is not necessary to dampen the substrate for application.

Finish

The leveling and troweling must be made after the mortar setting. We recommend using a plastic finish trowel to provide better finishing. The coating may be polished to achieve a finer texture, if the finish is made with a wood float and subsequently felted.

After applying the coating, start the finish after 14 days for ceramic coatings or similar, and 28 days for other.
